It took longer than expected to get everything sorted out but we are finally open for business!!!!

Services

Convert your bike to electric

  • Electric Bikes?

We install a battery, some controls and a motor that will reduce how much effort you have to put into pedalling. You still have to pedal, we are not making a motorbike! The system will sense when you are pedalling and operate the motor. You can control how hard the motor works through a keypad and LCD display mounted on the handlebars. So, if you already have a bike but you don't ride it much, or you are struggling to keep up with the kids, or they are struggling to keep up with you, or you want a bicycle commute to work that wont leave you covered in sweat an E-Bike conversion might be for you.
  • Hub motor conversion

The motor is built into the hub of the bike wheel. Either the front or rear wheel of your bike will be replaced with the new motor/wheel combination. Available in 16", 20", 24", 26", 27.5", 29" or 700C sizes. These are compatible with both rim and disc brake systems.
  • Mid motor conversion

The motor is built into an assembly that replaces the "bottom bracket" and front sprockets of your bike (the bottom bracket is the axle between the pedals). The motor drives the existing bike chain and makes use of the bike's rear gears.
  • Batteries

Batteries come in a range of voltages and capacities to suit the motor and your range requirements. Typically the battery is mounted to the frame of your bike or it can be mounted to the rear of your bike as part of a new parcel rack. Batteries are supplied with a charger.
  • Prices

The price of the conversion ranges from $1400 to $2550 including installation. The final price depends on the motor and battery options that you choose.
  • Are they legal?

In Victoria an E-bike is still considered an ordinary bicycle if the motor is 250W or less and the motor assisted top speed is 25km/h (you can still pedal or roll down a hill faster). An E-bike that meets these requirements can still be ridden on the road or on a bike path just like any ordinary bike. See link below. A 250W E-bike is unexpectedly powerful. You still need to pedal, especially up hills, but it is like having a second person helping you. We can certainly build more powerful and faster E-bikes, performance of a 1000W E-bike is impressive, but these are strictly for use on private property.
  • Is my bike suitable for conversion?

Whether a road bike, a mountain bike or a hybrid bike, if it's fitted with disc brakes or rim brakes, almost all bikes can be converted to electric. Some bikes present more challenges than others: We can only fit special order mid-motors to fat bikes. Fitting the battery to a dual suspension mountain bike can be a challenge, their frames often do not have the space. We cannot convert carbon fiber bikes, their frames are not compatible with our motors or battery mounts. The best way to determine if your bike is suitable for conversion is to contact us.

Test rides

  • Try an E-Bike at Bacchus Marsh

We have 3 E-bikes that you can try. We can meet you at some good riding areas in Bacchus Marsh for a test ride.
  • Try an E-Bike at your location

We can bring our e-bikes to your location or a place near you. We charge $0.25 per km for this service. The return distance is determined by Google Maps. For example, Ballarat and Geelong cost about $30, Werribee and Sunbury cost about $20. This cost will be deducted from your conversion price if you decide to go ahead.
